Are You Considering Switching to Synthetic Oil?

Oil plays a very important role in the function of your vehicle. Its purpose is to provide lubrication to various engine parts, while simultaneously keeping the engine cool and being a deterrent to corrosion. There used to be only one type of oil to choose from, which is conventional oil, but now car owners can also choose synthetic oil.

Both conventional and synthetic oil originates in the ground. Where conventional oil is refined, synthetic oil is distilled and purified. A blend of additives is added to synthetic oil after purification to finalize the process. Synthetic oil is able to achieve a higher viscosity range, protection at higher temperatures, and greater longevity than conventional oil.

If you are considering making a change to synthetic oil and have more questions, then please come visit our service experts at Lakeshore Chrysler Jeep Dodge. Once you are here, we can let you know if and what type of synthetic oil is right for your vehicle and get your vehicle serviced as well.
