Things to Look for During a Test Drive

Knowing what to look for when you test drive a used car is key in getting the best value. If you don’t know what to look for or check out you could miss some important issues or problems that could be going on with the car. We’ve come up with a list of things you should look for on the exterior of the car you’re test driving. Including:

  • Look for excessive wear on the body of the car. There’s likely to be a scratch or two but there shouldn’t be an extreme amount.
  • Check the windshield for rock chips.
  • Make sure the tires are properly inflated.
  • Pop the trunk and access how much space is available. Is it big enough to fit your storage needs?
  • It may even be wise to get a good whiff of the car so you can note any strange smells. If there’s an air freshener in the car remove it and place it in the glove compartment.
  • Check the interior for spots and stains.
